Metoprolol / Antagonist
DESCRIPTION
- It is a β-adrenergic antagonist
INDICATIONS
- For patients with Atrial Fibrillation accompanied by Rapid Ventricular Response (RVR).
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Cocaine Use
DOSAGE
- 5mg slow IV push
- If inadequate response after 2 - 5 minutes AND Heart Rate > 150 with stable BP, may repeat 5mg slow IV push
- If inadequate response after additional 2 - 5 minutes AND Heart Rate > 150 with stable BP, may repeat an additional 5mg slow IV push
- Max of 3 doses (15mg MAX)
